Who's Hiring in 340B Right Now: 77 Open Roles at 58 Organizations (October 2026)

The 340B job market is busier than most people realize. In mid-October 2026 I went through a list of 260 health systems, community health centers, pharmacies, PBMs and drug manufacturers, one by one, looking for open 340B roles. I found 77 postings at 58 of those organizations, and 69 of them are still open or were posted recently.

That is not a niche quietly filling a seat here and there. It is analyst, auditor, coordinator, manager and director searches running at the same time, at academic medical centers, safety-net hospitals, health centers and the companies that support them. Here is who is hiring, what they are hiring for, and what it tells you whether you are building a 340B team or looking for your next role.

The health systems hiring 340B talent

Nearly 30 hospitals and health systems have 340B openings right now, from regional community hospitals to the biggest academic centers in the country. Some are hiring several people at once: Trinity Health has three analyst-level searches in Iowa and Illinois, and WVU Medicine, MetroHealth, SSM Health and Bon Secours Mercy Health each have two.

Public agencies are in the market too. The NYC Department of Health is hiring a pharmacist focused on 340B compliance in its public health clinics, and NYC Health + Hospitals has a director-level opening that requires 340B knowledge.

The vendor, pharmacy and PBM side

Hospitals are not the only ones competing for 340B talent. The companies that run contract pharmacy networks, manage 340B programs for clients and process claims are hiring for the same skill set, and they often offer remote work.

Manufacturers are building 340B expertise as well, mostly inside government pricing and contract teams. Teva has an Associate Director of Business Finance, 340B Management posted, and Sandoz is hiring a government pricing manager whose scope includes the 340B program.

This matters for hospital hiring managers. When your analyst can take a remote job at a vendor that pays more, your offer is competing with theirs, not just with the hospital across town.

Four things the postings tell me

1. Audit and compliance is where the demand is heaviest

Look at the titles: 340B Auditor, Audit & Compliance Analyst, Compliance Auditor, Onsite Pharmacy Auditor. Bon Secours Mercy Health, MetroHealth, Huntsville Hospital, UNC Health, WVU Medicine, Trinity Health and Prime Therapeutics are all hiring for audit-focused 340B roles. Organizations want people who can find a problem before HRSA or a manufacturer does.

2. Some of these seats are hard to fill

Mercy Health's 340B Auditor role was posted on August 4, again on August 11, and again on September 9. When a role keeps coming back, the candidate pool is thin. These roles need someone who has run a self-audit or untangled a split-billing mapping problem, and that is a much smaller group than everyone who knows the word 340B.

3. Remote is now normal

SSM Health, Boston Medical Center, UNC Health, WVU Medicine, Essentia Health and Baptist Health (KY & IN) all list remote or hybrid 340B roles, and nearly every vendor role on the list is remote. Location is no longer the filter it used to be, which widens the pool for employers and the competition for candidates.

4. Certification has moved from nice-to-have to required

UNC Health's certified compliance analyst role requires the Apexus 340B ACE credential. NYU Langone wants it within six months of hire. SSM Health and WVU Medicine ask for the Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate, and the University of Miami's director role lists 340B certification as well. If you are a 340B professional without it, that is the single most useful thing you can add to your resume this year.

On top of all that, leadership roles are open. The University of Miami, Providence and Teva are hiring at director or associate-director level, and Boston Medical Center wants a Senior Manager for 340B optimization. Programs are maturing, and they need people who can run them, not just keep them compliant.

What the pay ranges say

Thirteen of the postings list pay, and they show a wide market: about $51K at the low end of a hospital specialist role to $132K at the top of City of Hope's analyst range.

Posted 340B pay runs from about $51K to $132K a year

Most hospital analyst ranges sit between roughly $50K and $105K. Optum's client-facing 340B roles go to $130K, and City of Hope matches that for an analyst in Southern California. If you are setting pay for a 340B role, these are the numbers your candidates are looking at.

What to do with this

If you are hiring

  • Move fast. A qualified 340B analyst with audit experience is likely talking to two or three of the employers above at the same time.
  • Price against vendors, not just other hospitals. Remote vendor roles are paying well into six figures for client-facing 340B work.
  • Decide what you can train. Strong pharmacy technicians and buyers can grow into 340B roles, but split-billing software, TPA reconciliation and audit work take months to learn. Hire for the part that is hardest to teach.
  • Offer remote or hybrid if you can. Most of your competition already does.

If you are a 340B professional

  • Get certified. 340B ACE or the Apexus Advanced Operations Certificate shows up as a requirement again and again.
  • Put your audit work front and center. Self-audits, HRSA audit preparation and corrective action plans are what these employers are screening for.
  • Look beyond hospitals. Optum, Cencora, NuvemRx, Walgreens and PharMerica all need people who understand covered entities from the inside.

The 340B market rewards people who understand both the pharmacy and the compliance side, and right now there are more open seats than there are of those people. If you are building a 340B team, or you are a 340B professional thinking about your next move, message me. 340B recruiting is what I do.
